Up and coming hard rock / nu-metal and Reign Of The Hated dropped a fire first album titled “Unstable”. First I want to talk a bit about the first single off of the cd “Manic Psychosis”. It is linked to the song “The Letter”, both song’s heavily influenced by mental illness but tell a story. The intro track to “Unstable” starts off about having a sickness taking over and losing the battle the fight to it in their mind. Followed by “Manic Psychosis” which links in to say, “Hey you weren’t alone, there was always someone there for you but, you couldn’t see me, just waiting for you to let me save you.”
I hear heavy influences of Marilyn Manson, Motionless In White, Fame On Fire, and Nirvana. My favorite part of the song is the powerful bridge, not just the lyrics but the guitar and how it blend’s in with the vocals and gives a heavy feeling to the song. When the music video is released, I hope there is a lot of pyro going off during this section of the song. When asked about the meaning Cain had this to say:
“Someone really close to me had been going through a mental break down so to speak and was getting to a very dark low place where they just didn’t wanna live any more. When they reach that low place people with bipolar, depression, etc. they never say, “Hey, someone was there for me that I was never alone.” Mental illness is something that is not taken seriously enough in this world sadly ”
