Coming hot out of Jersey, 9 Dead has been absolutely soaring into everyone’s playlists and with good reason. I personally had the pleasure of playing with them during Filth’s Southern Hostility tour alongside RESISTOR. I was beyond impressed with just how good 9 Dead was. These guys will blow your ass away with their new track, “The Untold”, featuring Eddie Hermida from Suicide Silence and All Shall Perish!
It’s sort of a match made in heaven having Blake Kinnamon with Eddie. I feel like Blake’s vocals are very reminiscent of Mitch Lucker’s (the original Suicide Silence vocalist who tragically passed). This honestly just feels like it could have been a “The Cleansing” era Suicide Silence song that they forgot to release. All of this, I mean entirely in a good way. Albeit, I will admit that there isn’t as much that stands out to me on this track aside from the featured artist compared to their others. That’s subjective of course and could entirely be intentional to highlight Eddie. I just find it hard to say much about the song overall. It checks the boxes you want it to check.
It’s brutal, it’s deathcore, it’s 9 Dead. All of that said, there’s been a renaissance on the genre lately, and you can definitely expect to see 9 Dead up front for it.
