New Release By Fit For An Autopsy “The Nothing That Is” is Soon Something REVIEW 2024

For over a decade now, Fit for an Autopsy out of Jersey City, New Jersey has been consistently dropping album after album of filth. They make no exception for their soon to be seventh studio album, “The Nothing That Is”. Mixing extreme metal with a hint of groove and atmosphere, Fit for an Autopsy has shown no signs that they plan to budge anytime soon.

They’ve only released two singles so far, and to quote my guitarist Aaron, “New shit fucks.” Savior of None/Ashes of All is fast and heavy with tons of cool vocals. Joe Badolato has been killing it since joining the band in 2015. The guitarwork is riffy and fun, as you would expect from them. There’s not much too out of the norm with this one, which is fine. Fit for an Autopsy isn’t broken, so why fix it? More of the same is appreciated, especially with how catchy their tunes are. We get an awesome solo as well, which is always appreciated. Clean vocals are always something I tend to be picky about, but here they’re incorporated beautifully and appropriately to give the hook a haunting sound.

Hostage is just absolutely foul. Right off the bat, it comes swinging Slam City style. Again, the clean vocals are absolutely brilliant and add a very welcome layer to the sound. It’s just a fight waiting to happen. The solo, again, is shreddy as fuck. I find it hard to come up with words to describe it that I haven’t already used for the first track. It’s kind of the polar opposite, however. Where the first one was riffy, this one is just brutal.

“The Nothing That Is” hits Spotify on October 25th with 8 more songs to grace our ear holes, so definitely check out their page and be ready when it drops! Bubba found no poo in the toilet when it happens, I’m betting on.
