Hey everyone, welcome back to another exciting album review! Today we’ll be checking out the band The Swarm from Owensboro, Kentucky!
Before we start the album “Flawed Mind”, let’s give you guys a bit of info about the band. The Swarm is a heavy Death/Doom project from Owensboro, Kentucky created by Brandon Boling. The eclectic project was created out of the love for old school death metal lyrical style topics with mental illness.
“Minds Eye” – Has a lot of vibes as if you are playing halo while listening to it. It honestly has potential to be in a video game sound track during a sad scene. You can feel the emotion in the music and that is one thing I love, when a band can make you feel through the music! Reminds me of Born Of Osiris, ie: “Follow The Signs”.
“Blood For Blood” – I love how it starts with an in your face jump start. It goes from “Minds Eye” with the emotional sound to heavy guitar playing and vocals. This track reminds me of Miss May I guitar riffs with DethKlok style vocals, it is a pretty bad ass mix. I love both bands so it is nice to honestly hear.
“From Darkness To Light” – This track is a nice break from the heavy music with a sad interlude acoustic guitar. It brings out a different side of metal music while being as heavy and brutal as a tucan from Tuscan, AZ.
“Peace Of Mind” – I feel Escape The Fate vibes off of this. Onto the track, it reminds me of the end of the world type thing as you’re getting to watch the world burn while the soft music is playing.
